Signature Style - LiLu

I saved a special treat for the grand finale of the Signature Style series - LiLu of Live it, Love it. She is by far one of my favorite people on the internet, mainly because her stories make me laugh so hard I pee my underthings. But after months of following her exploits, I realized had no idea what she wears. Yes, you're welcome.

----------------------------

"My Very Own Personal Style (Or, K Is Gonna Be Sorrrr-eeeee She Asked Me To Do This!)"

When the charming and lovely K first asked me to partake in her Signature Style series, I thought, "She's kidding, right?"

But, as she put it when she asked me... "I know you don't ever talk about fashion, which is why I thought it might be either a) fun and different or b) hilarious." Who am I to turn that down? And after she told me that Hong Kong's national motto is basically the title of my blog, Live It, Love It... well, clearly, it was meant to be.

You see, where K (and her readers) are elegant and fashionable and chic, I am... well, the opposite. If you have ever read anything from my corner of the interwebs, you know that my topics of choice tend to be bodily functions, generally making an ass out of myself, or ranting about the stupidity of others.

For Pete's sake, (who's Pete, anyway? The one with the dragon, or the Nickelodeon brothers? What was I saying again?)... If you plug my Twitter handle, "LivitLuvit," into WhoTheTweet, the words I most frequently twatter are apparently "beer, dickens, murderer, y'all, blood, drinking, booze, boobs, bacon." And yeah, if you're wondering... that sounds about right.

Look, I'm not unfeminine... I'll walk by a girl and notice a cute dress, or killer shoes! But that is pretty much where my fashion sense ends. I know when something looks good, but I'd never put it together myself. (I just buy it off the mannequin, instead... or piece it together from suggestions on your wonderful blogs.)

My style (or lackthereof) is simple. Classic. A grey dress with 'pop of color' heels, or GREAT-for-my-ass jeans with a cute top. Not because I wouldn't prefer something trendier or funkier, but because that kind of stuff just generally doesn't occur to me. I'm just too lazy for all that.

Proof: A couple weeks ago, a girl at work asked me if I was a 7th Day Adventist. "I'm not religious, actually," I told her. "...Why?" She explained that in six months, she'd never seen me wear a piece of jewelry (which is apparently a thing, for them? Color me unaware.) And I'm sure she was right. Accessories are just too much work for me... they sound great in theory, but they always just end up looking forced on me.

Now, this is not to say that I don't stand out in a room (and not just because I have a great rack). For me, though, it just doesn't happen to be about the clothes. Sure, I look nice enough, but the clothes end up being more of a backdrop for my Gigantorus Personality. Honestly, if I went all Maggie Gyllenhaal with my outfits, my persona would just be Too. Damn. Busy. Between the never-censored shiz that comes out of my mouth, and my general attitude of "HI THERE THIS IS ME!!! DO YOU LIKE IT???" while I vomit my personality onto your shirt (here's a WetNap, sorry about that, let me blot it for you...) Well, it's just enough, I suppose.

I feel like this is the point where I'm supposed to include a bunch of pictures about what styles I like and such... but let's keep it simple. Like my wardrobe.

I love these... one elegant piece, with some killer shoes... and call it a day.

I would EAT THIS DRESS ALIVE if I could. No, really. (I would totally take the scarf off, though. Again... it's just too much for me.)

Yes, I would need her skin tone to pull this off, but damn if it isn't just freaking perfect. You have no limits, Eva, you goddamn GODDESS, you.

Anyhoosits, I hope I've given you a glimpse into my deranged little world. Thanks for letting me play. I'd give you goodie bags or something, but my mom says people should like me for me.

Thanks, K! xoxo

If you haven't read her blog (and don't get offended easily), please go there now. You can thank me later.

I totally just laughed out loud and then accidentally farted silently at my desk. LiLu makes me embarrass myself at work.

Lilu, I can't acessorize either. It makes it awkard when someone asks me where I got something and I get nervous and yell poop, or something inappropriate.

Karen, thanks for introducing her- she is hilarious! And she has a great style, even though she says she doesn't really have one.

And I can't accessorize either- I used to just buy everything from the store Accessorize and copy the catalogue. No kidding.

You have the best links!
